What is IPL Skin Rejuvenation?
IPL Skin Rejuvenation, also known as IPL Photofacial treatment is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure which uses an Intense Pulse Light (IPL) to improve the texture, quality, colour and health of your skin leaving you with a fresher, clearer and healthier looking skin you’ll be proud of to show off.
This broad wavelength light can be used to treat multiple conditions at simultaneously. Treatable conditions include skin redness, broken veins and capillaries, age spots, acne scarring, pigmentation, rosacea, and freckles.
In addition, any parts of the body (except for the area near the eyes) can be treated with an IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment.
IPL Skin Rejuvenation state-of-the art technology Icon Platform clears blood vessels and uneven pigments safely and effectively resulting in a radiant skin with minimal or no downtime at all.
How does IPL work?
Ageing leads to the reduction in the production of collagen, the protein produced by the body which helps to maintain the skin’s elasticity. This loss of elasticity leads to the formation of wrinkles and fine lines on the skin, which can make you look tired and older. Vascular, pigmentation and prolonged sun exposure damage also manifest with ageing.
During an IPL procedure, a broad spectrum of intense light is passed over the skin in different wavelengths depending upon the treatment. This pulsed light penetrates deep inside the skin to stimulate the generation of collagen and elastin. The pulsed light can also be used to break pigmented and damaged cells and close off abnormal blood vessels.
The increased production of collagen firms up the skin, leading to the reduction of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The breaking up of the pigmented and damaged cells helps to reduce skin lesions such as rosacea, pigmentation, and acne.
