What is Levulan Photodynamic Therapy?

You should clean the area to be treated and not apply any make up.

Post-op Care

You should avoid any exposure to sunlight for about 48 hours as it may lead to severe blister burns.

In case you need to go out in the sun during the first 48 hours, you should properly cover the area to avoid any exposure to the sun. You must regularly use sunscreens for about four weeks even if it is cloudy.

You should avoid excessive heat exposure such as a sauna, hot showers, and steam rooms for about 24 hours after your PDT treatment.

You should avoid aggressive skin care products and avoid using hairspray on the treated area.

You should wear loose clothes to avoid rubbing against the area.

Are there any risks?

PDT treatments are extremely low-risk procedures with few side effects.
